Bengie
Santos has worked for King County Executive Ron Sims for 20 years. She has
reached the position of community relations manager. Her remaining time is
divided between her daughter, the community, and eight hours of dance classes
every week, which she teaches in the dance studio found in her basement. Bengie
is committed to community, art, and theatre programs. Recently, she directed,
choreographed and performed in her production “All One Tribe” and choreographed
“West Side Story” for the Northwest Asian American Theatre. Bengie is currently
choreographing and producing “Heart of the Son,” which will be performed this
year at Pista.
Bengie’s commitment to Pista has enriched the event on every imaginable front.
As one of the event’s founders she has been appointed to do everything from the
preparation of a yearly evaluation to garbage detail. She is currently involved
with the administrative details of Pista, as well as the coordination of booths.
Bengie has seen Pista come a long way from its first year, during which the
event was pulled together in only three months. Bengie remains dedicated to
Pista and is rewarded by its ability to bring together family and friends.
